Overview
As our clientele and competition evolve, PC Greens is looking to add a Chief Operations Officer to assist with increased corporate efficiencies, general fiscal oversight and overall company operations. This position, both strategic and hands-on, will help to align company resources and focus on meeting the challenges of enhanced growth and expansion in our immediate future– all without comprising our friendly, no-nonsense reputation as the local neighborhood grocer of choice!


Responsibilities & Areas of Focus (including but not limited to)

•    Exemplary customer service with overall accountability for a positive customer shopping experience.
•    Must ensure profitable and efficient operation of each departmental merchandising unit.
•    Charged with budget accountability, expense control, maintaining acceptable margins and shrink.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with complete comfort interfacing with staff, management team and the general public.
•    Expertise in crisis mode problem solving when dealing with high profile clientele, emotional or difficult customer situations or inappropriate staff dynamics.
•    Oversight of staff resources with ultimate responsibility for recruiting, hiring, employee training/development, reviews and disciplinary actions.
•    Proven experience in the development, motivation and optimization of retail, specialty merchandising and food prep teams.
•    Will monitor competitors and develop tactical guidelines to ensure adequate product offerings and competitive pricing models.
•    Ability to track industry trends and produce intelligent analysis regarding accurate sales projections and focused marketing efforts.
•    Responsibility for workplace safety training, OSHA compliance, safe food handling, and HACCP best practices.


Requirements

•    7-10 years proven operations and management experience in a retail grocery, prepared foods, perishables supplier or related hospitality/food service environment.
•    Passionate about great customer service with ability to inspire staff to peak performance and foster a cohesive, service-driven customer experience.
•    5+ years experience analyzing company strengths and goals in order to determine adequate paths to individual performance, necessary operational support structures and best practices for profitable and continued store growth. 
•    Experience developing operating budgets (projected and actual) in the retail grocery, wholesale food stuffs, or related perishables industry.
•    Excellent operations, accounting and analysis skills with ability to read and interpret financial statements and sales reports.
•    Must evaluate financials to determine adequate margins, prevent shrink, identify unacceptable variances and mitigate spoils and loss.
•    Experience with vendor relations: will research, develop, negotiate and execute contracts and agreements with company suppliers and partners.
•    Ability to appropriately communicate with, motivate and manage a diverse workforce comprised of differing levels of education, training, motivation and ability and experience.
•    Bachelors Degree in Business, Management, Accounting, or Finance preferred or equivalent combination of education and appropriate operations experience.
